1. Remove the bag of soil and packet of seeds from the pot. 2. If necessary, lightly moisten soil. Pour the soil into the pot and level soil. 3. Open seed packet and place seeds evenly spaced, about ½" (12 mm) apart, in center area. Press down on each seed so that it is in the soil about ¼" (6 mm) deep. Cover seeds with soil. 4. Lightly water seeds and soil (using a spray bottle works best). 5. Place a piece of plastic wrap over top of pot and set in a warm area (75–80°F/24–27°C) out of direct sunlight until seeds sprout. 6. When seeds sprout (7–14 days) remove plastic wrap and place pot in a brightly lit location. 7. When the second set of leaves appear on the seedlings, gently remove all but the healthiest seedling. (The extra seedlings may be transplanted to other pots, if care is taken not to damage the roots of all the seedlings.) Leave the remaining seedling to grow in the pot provided. 8. When soil appears dry, carefully add water until it begins to drain into the saucer. 9. Tomatoes are heavy feeders and require regular fertilizing (follow the fertilizer manufacturer’s directions). 10. Mature plants may require daily watering. 11. Expect sweet, delicious cherry tomatoes about 60 days from germination.
